Nabulsi Knafeh
The most famous and delicious Palestinian dessert, renowned in Palestine and specifically Nablus. Served hot and soaked in syrup on special occasions, it is characterized by its rich cheese flavor.

Ingredients
- 0.5 kg Knafeh dough (shredded phyllo)
- 0.5 kg Akawi cheese (desalted)
- Small amount of Mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup Ghee or butter
- Sugar syrup (Attar)
- Pistachios for garnish
- Orange food coloring (optional)
Steps
- 1Shred the knafeh dough and mix it thoroughly with melted ghee and coloring.
- 2Place half of the dough in a baking tray and press down firmly.
- 3Grate the cheese over the dough layer, then add a little mozzarella.
- 4Cover the cheese with the remaining dough and press gently.
- 5Bake until it reaches a golden-brown color.
- 6Pour the syrup over it immediately after taking it out of the oven.
- 7Garnish with pistachios and serve hot.
