Maqrouda (Date Cookies)
A famous and traditional Palestinian dessert, typically served during holidays. It consists of a delicate semolina dough filled with dates and shaped into beautiful patterns.

Ingredients
- 1 cup semolina
- 2.25 cups flour
- 1 cup ghee
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 2 tbsp sesame seeds
- 2 tbsp Ka'ak spices
- 1 small cup water
- Date paste for filling
Steps
- 1Mix ghee, oil, and sugar together.
- 2Add semolina, flour, baking powder, sesame, and spices.
- 3Knead with water until the dough is cohesive.
- 4Shape by layering dough and date paste then cutting, or roll them into small cylinders.
- 5Bake at medium heat until golden brown.
